It could also be an opportunity for people who have never done drugs and never will but are curious to learn by listening about what it is like. Battle Road Trail walk, second Saturday of each month. Meet in the visitor center parking lot then walk along the historic trail. MINUTE MAN NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK is located 22 miles outside of Boston within the towns of Lexington, Lincoln and Concord. The park commemorates the opening battles of the American Revolution on April 19, 1775 by protecting, preserving and interpreting the significant historic sites, structures, landscapes, events and ideas embodied by these events. This five mile trail connects historic sites from Meriam's Corner in Concord to the eastern boundary of the park in Lexington. The main theme of the trail is the Battle of April 19, 1775, that launched the American Revolution. More over, the trail interprets the broader human story of the people whose lives were altered by the events that took place here. Much of the trail follows original remnants of the Battle Road; other sections leave the historic road to follow the route of the Minute Men, traversing farming fields, wetlands, and forests. On April 19, 1775, British soldiers and American militia, "minute men" met in a series of skirmishes along a 22 mile stretch of road that ran from Boston to Concord. The American Revolution began at Lexington and Concord with a clash of arms known to history as "the shot heard round the world." At the Park the opening battle of the Revolution is brought to life as visitors explore the battlefields and witness the American revolutionary spirit through the writings of the Concord authors. Minute Man National Historical Park is home to many unique and interesting historic structures, interpretive walking trails and cultural landscapes. The park supports a variety of habitats. Forests are dominant, covering approximately 500 acres of the park, including about 200 acres of forested wetland. Non-forested wetlands, including several ponds, cover approximately 180 acres. Meadows and fields cover an additional 250 acres, including approximately 100 acres farmed under the park's agricultural leasing program. Shrubland also is present at the park, particularly at the interface of fields and forests. Developed areas, including roads, parking lots, and buildings, cover the remainder of the park. Please join for us a <2 hour walk through the Middlesex Fells on the Fire Roads. Enjoy the beautful scenery from the comfort of the (relatively) flat dirt roads that surround the reservoirs. We'll start from the Long Pond Parking Lot at 9:00 am (leaving no later than 9:10). The plan will be to cut through the middle reservoir and circle back around the south reservoir. Dogs are very welcome If you want to cut the trip short, feel free to head back early. The pace will not be super fast (dogs get distracted and are distracting). Ropes and ziplines=challenge and fun! Catamount Adventure Park is a bit of a drive (145 miles from Boston) but we can catch the start of the leaves changing along the way, AND this park is well put together and has what we've been looking for-both ZIPS and ROPES. Plus a reasonable cost of $46! Set in a wooded 5-acre area, this park has 8 courses which vary in difficulty-much like ski trails do. We spend the first 20 minutes being fitted with safety harness which will be worn throughout-and getting briefed on the rules of the course. Then we proceed at our own pace-as a group. This is empowering and a blast!! We'll celebrate after at a local dining spot...

Participate in building a sukkah, the temporary outdoor dwelling used during the holiday of Sukkot. Use this opportunity to prune your trees and bushes, and bring the branches to be used for the roof. (Prunings 1� to 2 ft are the ideal size.) SENIORS: Whether you accomplish a lot on your essay over the summer or youre still trying to decide what to write about when school begins next fall, this workshop will be helpful. Students work in small groups with others who are at the same writing stage, and are led by BHS teachers to work on their writing, spend some time in peer review, and get individual help and feedback from teachers and volunteers. Online Registration begins in May.
PARENTS: We depend on volunteers that morning. If you have experience as a writer or editor, well provide an orientation on helping students with their college essays. If you can provide logistical support (registration, snack delivery, room set up), please let us know. This is a one-day, one-timecommitment.
